NourishWell is an international European Erasmus+ project that brings together gastronomy, nutrition, and health with the aim of strengthening skills related to food and cancer among future culinary and hospitality professionals. The project adopts a practical and interdisciplinary approach, focused on the physiological and emotional needs of patients.
The initiative promotes personalized nutrition training through collaboration among experts in clinical oncology, nutrition, cooking, and education. The consortium is coordinated by the Institute for Gastroenterological Tumors (IGET) and includes the participation of Alícia Foundation as an expert organization in culinary medicine, as well as the vocational training centers Prehrambeno-tehnološka škola (Croatia) and Vancho Pitosheski Secondary School of Hospitality and Tourism (North Macedonia).

The project aims to provide tailored responses to the specific nutritional needs of each patient and to help improve their well-being. At the same time, it provides students with knowledge and tools to intervene from a gastronomic perspective by adapting recipes, textures, flavours, and formats.
The developed curriculum focuses on oncology nutrition and the main side effects of treatments—such as changes in appetite, taste, or digestion—and incorporates adapted culinary techniques, personalized nutrition, and sustainable practices.
The program combines theoretical and practical training with cooking sessions, digital resources, and co-creation activities, offering accessible content adaptable to different educational and professional contexts.
The Alícia Foundation contributes its expertise in health-oriented cooking, transforming scientific evidence into useful, appealing gastronomic proposals designed for the daily lives of people undergoing cancer treatment.
NourishWell highlights the key role of food both in prevention and throughout cancer treatment and recovery.
