The Alícia Foundation participates in the II Congress on Food in São Paulo, Brazil

From September 10 to 13, 2024, the Alícia Foundation and SENAC São Paulo organized the 2nd SENAC and Alícia Foundation Congress: “The Path of Food for All People,” an international event that brought together experts in food, nutrition, and sustainability. The Alícia Foundation played a prominent role throughout the four days, sharing its expertise and knowledge on how to make food more accessible, healthy, and sustainable for everyone.

Tuesday, September 10: “The Alícia Foundation and current food trends”

The congress began with a presentation by the Alícia Foundation, where its mission to promote healthy and sustainable eating for all was explained. Next, current food trends were discussed, addressing topics such as the use of local ingredients, sustainability in food production, and emerging technologies in the sector.

Wednesday, September 11: “Creativity and culinary innovation” and “Nutrition in the Treatment of head and neck cancer”

Wednesday focused on culinary creativity. The Alícia Foundation shared its methodologies for developing and ideating culinary projects, showing how new proposals are generated to respond to the challenges of current food systems. Later, nutrition in the treatment of head and neck cancer was addressed, presenting dietary strategies to improve patients’ quality of life.

Thursday, September 12: “Dietary-Culinary strategies for colorectal cancer” and Alícia Projects

On Thursday, the Foundation focused on dietary-culinary strategies for colorectal cancer, explaining how food choice and preparation can positively impact patients’ health. Several key projects of the Alícia Foundation were also presented, highlighting its innovative approach to improving food in various health contexts.

Friday, September 13: “Demonstration of plant-based recipes”

The congress closed with a demonstration of plant-based recipes, where healthy and sustainable culinary options based on plant ingredients were taught. This final session emphasized the importance of a balanced diet that also considers environmental impact.

This congress was a great opportunity for the Alícia Foundation to share its innovative and practical approach to making food more inclusive and accessible. Over the four days, ideas and solutions were presented that combine science and gastronomy, showing that it is possible to improve people’s health through delicious food tailored to their needs. It was a space for exchange that reminded us that beyond nutrition, food is a tool for connecting people with the pleasure of eating well.
